This page records the earliest sketch behind City Apex.
Testing composition, refining the racing line and balancing architectural detail with the energy of a Formula car attacking city streets.
Each annotation represents a small decision that gradually formed the finished illustration.
" Every drawing begins with
exploration, Not perfection. "
02. Breakdown of Details
Every finished illustration is built from a series of smaller studies. Each sketch explores a single element of the composition, refining proportion, texture and movement before contributing to the final artwork.
Exploring proportion, simplified aerodynamics and an aggressive front-facing stance before establishing the
final illustration.
Architectural studies balancing layered stonework, perspective and surrounding detail to frame the composition.

03. Final Artwork
Created digitally using the original sketchbook study as a foundation, while preserving the expressive hand-drawn character.

04. On The Garment
Every garment carries the finished illustration exactly as it was intended,
celebrating the original hand-drawn artwork rather than concealing it.
05. Artist's Notes
" Every adjustment was made with one objective:
creating a balanced composition. "
The biggest challenge was creating a piece that felt recognisable while remaining true to my own abstract sketching style. The aim was to create a balanced composition that captures attention at first glance, while encouraging a closer look at the smaller details that make each illustration unique.
